Nileethrae Arkenrret

There are many unsavory characters to be found in the underdark. No place better to find the darkest, most evil creatures than in Menzoberranzan, the drow city. A place where deceit is power and chaos brings favor.

But even the drow have to draw a line somewhere, if only so that they may cross it. Perhaps one of the most unsavory characters to have not only crossed that line but over-shot it entirely is Nileethrae Arkenrret. A powerful sorceress by any races' standards, Nileethrae is all matron mothers' sworn enemy. And greatest ally, if she can be convinced to choose a side.

Nileethrae was once a part of a ruling house of another smaller drow city, but left when her house fell to another. No one knows for sure her full history other than her brother, an assassin for Bregan D'aerthe, Micartar.

What is known about this sorceress is her devotion to her craft,; necromancy. That and the fact that she is certifiably and completely insane. She has sacrificed high priestesses she stole from their temples and sometimes wears their organs as jewelry. One sentry claims to have seen her dancing around in the nude by the main gate only to grab a kobold slave and rip his throat out with her teeth. She lives for nothing more than to irritate and constantly terrorize the drow, especially those she knows. A meeting with her (normally at the request of a desperate but wealthy matron mother) could end in a battle one is sure to win with her as their ally, or in a coffin, depending on how chaotic the sorceress feels. And these are only the beginning of the long list of her jaunts. Her antics have, however, brought her into favor with the Spider Queen herself as they always create the chaos the goddess so enjoys.

Yet even the female's appearance is outstanding. Obviously the most noticeable thing about the necromancer is her completely shaved dome, something next to unheard of among the drow where hair shows status and rank. Of course, Nileethrae was not the first to rebel against the society in this way, but she is the only known female to have done so. Other than her bald head, the sorceress also boasts a skinless hand. To better practice her craft, the drowess skinned her hand in a ritual that created the ultimate gauntlet; a powerful hand of bones. She neither covers nor hides this hand, where at her wrist the flesh and skin just peel away to bare bone. In fact, she tends to offer this hand to shake, always accompanied by an evil grin at the disgust it normally brings.

Despite her mental health, few can match Nileethrae in sheer power. She is a dangerous and unaligned adversary, and many of the matron mothers would pray her dead and gone from their lives. The sorceress is all but banned from Menzoberranzan (it is hard to keep her out) and lives on the outskirts of the city, though the exact location is unknown. When she does choose to show herself to the drow of Menzoberranzan, it is normally to those of the highest of rankings or power, and normally in their private quarters, just to annoy them and make them fear her just a little more....

Alright, so I created Nileethrae a while ago, in response to the RIDICULOUS number of "good" drow. Drow are normally evil, and there are so few evil drow out there now adays it makes me sad. The fact that drow are so moral-less and dark hearted is what makes them so amazing! So I decided to make one super dark evil insane crazy lady drow to counteract all those goody-two-shoes out there. lol. I also made her because I wanted a bald character because I had so much fun drawing Jarlaxle's shiny dome. lmao

Anywho, this took me a couple of hours, and I'm rather happy with how it turned out considering I used no model or base and drew it completely in the computer. I'm still getting used to layers, but they are my friends and I just need to remember to switch layers every now and then.

She is Micartar's sister, though he hates to admit it. She tends to make it painfully obvious though when she shows up at random hours and days to sling her arm around his shoulder and proclaim very loudly to the room that he is her brother. And he grits his teeth and bares it because really, when your obnoxious older sister is a super powerful necromancer, there is little else you can do. I originally wasn't going to have them be related, but its more fun that way. I need to get up the snipit of her introduction and when she meets Jarlaxle for the first time (long before Shifter of course). The poor bastard thinks at first "hey, she's pretty unique" and then gets himself tangled up waaaaaay too deep with her. xDD

Because I need to put this somewhere or I will forget, her name means "Corpse Poison" in drow (isn't it always so convenient that mothers always name their children something so incredibly relevant to their future as if they know what they are going to become? lol) and her last name (as well as Micartar's as they are siblings) is Arkenrret which means "Mages of the Void".

Yup, so she's an original character, so STEAL HER AND I WILL KILL YOU QUICKLY BUT PAINFULLY WITH AN UNPLEASANT SQUELCHING SOUND!! I already rather adore her, or at least my morbid creative side does. lol. But I'd love some comments or feedback please. Not that I have any watchers . . .
